Red Pill or Blue Pill

The red pill and its opposite, the blue pill, are a popular cultural concept representing the choice between:

  • Knowledge, freedom, adversity and the brutal truth of reality (red pill)
  • deception, false-security, and the blissful sense of happiness through the ignorance of illusion (blue pill)

I found it interesting to discover that it accurately represents the choices we make in Modern Christianity. In fact, if you call yourself a Christian, you may have made this choice already.

What do I mean by this?

There’s a belief in modern Christianity that relates to “free-will” or a better word would be the aforementioned “choice” and it being one of the “attributes of God”. I believe this to be false. This belief can be more fully understood when we go back to the Book of Genesis.

When you read the first 3 chapters you discover that truly “In the beginning” there was perfect harmony. Literally, everything existed according to how God commanded it to. And this is the reason why He called it, “good”. When it says, “God said” this is a commandment, an order, a law. For example:

“God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind;” and it was so. God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. God saw that it was good.” – Genesis 1:24-25

You read here that God said it…and it was then He witnessed that it was good. His commandment was for the things He created to function exactly as He ordered it to. In this case for each living creature to produce after it’s own kind! This is order: Birds produce birds, fish produce fish, etc. etc. If birds produced fish (or vice versa) this would not be order but chaos! And I might note that this is exactly what Darwin suggests, that there is no God, there is no order, only chaos and this is what everything came from…chaos.

Now, when God created man you will read that He ordered him to:

have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth… (and to) be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it… (and furthermore) behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food.” – Genesis 1:26-29

…then, in chapter 2:15:

“The Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it.”

…lastly, in chapter 2:16-17, God commanded Adam:

saying, “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but you shall not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”

The order here is for man to have dominion over all the earth, to be fruitful and multiply, to eat from vegetation, herb, seed, and fruit, to cultivate the “garden of Eden” and lastly to eat from all trees except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

I believe chaos (evil) was introduced to man when Satan deceived man into choosing disobedience. Adam, only at this time, became aware of good (order) and evil (chaos) when he ate of this tree. Before this Adam only knew obedience to God’s Word. Now, he is aware that there is more…there’s disobedience.

Before eating of this tree, Adam thought that it was the act of eating the fruit–even touching it–would bring death. Now, he knows it is the act of choosing disobedience that brings death.

Think about it. All sin (as defined in the Bible) is breaking the law of God…or lawlessness essentially, choosing not to obey the law of God. Consider later that God told His people (through Moses) that to obey Him would bring blessings, consequently, however, to not obey would bring a curse.

Therefore, I present to you that true “free-will” or “choice” is really nothing more than a curse. Since to be in order, to be in harmony, to be blessed is to obey (not choosing) the Word of God. After all…all that is natural…obeys Him and exists in order and harmony. Apparently, only Satan, his kin, and man choose not to.

Modern Christianity teaches falsely that our “free-will” or “choice” is one of the attributes God gave us “in His image”. I can’t disagree more. I believe God foretold, through His Prophets, that He would write His Word on our hearts and minds so that we would automatically obey Him just as His Son, Yeshua/Jesus did/does.  We see this when He re-creates a new Heaven and new Earth in Revelation and all that is evil (chaotic) is destroyed.

Granted, since this curse (of choice) was handed down from Adam to you and me, God used this “curse” for the opportunity to be in order, harmony, and blessings. Satan gave man the choice to rebel against God and God then gave man the choice for everlasting communion with Him through His Son, Yeshua/Jesus…who, if you didn’t know, obeyed the Father perfectly.
